Sec 1 camp

yesterday was the sec 1 orientation camp.

personally, i thought it was lame.
compared to my year's camp. (it a day camp from 8am-9pm)

why did i go for sec 1 orientation camp you might ask?
because i'm a sec 1 pal.
we are the people that take care of the sec 1s during the orietation week.

so back to the camp.
in the beginning, it was kind of alright but my class wouldn't listen to me and my members.
so it was difficult.

but slowly they began to listen more and we got to know each one of them better.

lets go through the sequence of events:
first we had to meet them in the hall for them to learn the mass dance.
once the learnt the mass dance they were told of the camp rules and safety.

blablabla,
once that was done, we went back to class to practice our cheer and class item.
our class item was a skit.
i wrote the entire skit. i was the script writer.

my class and i thought that the skit was good. because it wasn't too long and it didn't drag like forever.
(like some classes)
anyways,
so they practiced it and then we went back to the hall to start our first game.

we first went to "the great wall of GM"
in this game we had to transport our class from one side of the spider web to the other. (the spider web is made up of raffia string)
so i stood at the ending side carrying the girls over.

the girls would carry one girl through the webbing and i would be the one catching the girl. (am i confusing?)
so i carried 20 girls over, by myself, and there were a couple of times when i almost dropped them.

but in the end, all 20 were safely on the other side.
after that, my entire arms were hurting and my back was in pain.
my goodness, what do my girls eat at home??

now, my arms are in great pain. i can't lift them. typing here is really tiring too!

after that we went on with the games. (the rest of the games were boring)
so after the games we went back to class for lunch!

and during lunch, they were so quiet. haha!
once lunch was finished, we had half an hour left, so we made full use of it.
we practiced our skit.

at around 3 we went back to the hall for the "scavanger hunt"
it was kinda lame cuz the things we were told to find were really simple.

after the scavanger hunt, in the hall, we had a fashion show.
we used stuff that we auctioned with our points.
that's where we found out that the teachers and prefects were kind of bias towards some classes.

at 5.30pm, we went back to class to practice our cheer and skit.
this was the time where my blood level went up above my eyes and my tolerence level was at my toes.

i was really frustrated.
they didn't want to cooperate and they made so much noise. the people not acting in the skit didn't help either by talking and not helping anything with the skit.
which they were already doing since the beginning of time when they didn't want to volunteer to act.

once i gave them a big burst out talking, they finally cooperated and everything went on smoothly.
after practicing, we had our dinner.
after dinner, we still had enough time to practice some more.
(praise the Lord for the time He has accumilated)

after that we went back to the hall for the mini concert, in which every class had to present something.
every class presented and the prize presentation went on.

when they asked for who do you think is the winner for best cheer, best performance and best station games, my class started going "1-1! clapclapclap. 1-1! clapclapclap. 1-1! clapclapclap. 1-1! clapclapclap."
but we didn't win any of them. (darn it)

and at the last one, for the best overall, my class gave up and started cheering, "not us! clapclapclap. not us! clapclapclap. not us! clapclapclap. not us! clapclapclap."
and my teacher who heard it started laughing.
and the way they said it was so gloomy like they were walking straight to the end of the earth.

haha.

but we told them before we went to the hall that night,
"even if we don't win, it's the experience, the effort and the heart that is more important.
and winning isn't everything.
we are really proud of all of you today and we will not forget the time we spent together with all of you."

and truly,
my faith 1-1,

although i am not your direct senior cuz i wasn't from faith 1-1, i had a great time taking care of you.
even if you guys didn't listen to me and made my blood boil sometimes, i really had fun knowing all of you.
i know we didn't win but at least we had fun and the experience was there.
Keith was right, maybe some of you will remember the camp in 10 years time (i sure would) [and so would you because you people met me! *throws tomatoes*]
i never in my life will look back at this and regret taking care of Faith 1-1.
we had our laughs and we had our trials and you might think, in the end we didn't win anything. but are you very sure about that? because i definately won the friendship or each one of you.
and that's more than enough for me, and it's much better (times infinity) than winning some lame snacks.

keep on shining Faith 1-1 because this class is definitely a STAR in my eyes
