New Area/Flag Day

hello people!
yes, I've changed my URL cuz I think it's time.
It's now much more easy to remember & it has a nice ring to it don't you think?
:D

Awesome.

Come, let's talk about today.

I went for CIP. I had to do Flag Day for SPCA.
For those who don't know what the acronym stands for it's: Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
We had to pair up which was weird at first because we were so used to having one can to ourselves.

Anyway, I partnered Rachel dear & we had fun!
At first we were a bit shy to ask & when we did we got rejected.
We went all the way to Orchard & there were so many other people who were doing CIP there so business wasn't very good.
Then it started to rain which made things even worst.

After the rain stopped (and after we finished slacking) at around 12pm we found a fantastic spot which was near Border's and it was kind of covered by construction sites so nobody was there.
Rachel & I just stood around. We didn't bother to ask people whether they wanted to donate because... God loves a cheerful giver!:D

There were many really sweet Singaporeans & some nice angmohs & we got to see many HOTNESS!!
Oh, at Shaw Brother's Building, there were people giving free hugs then I told Rachel to go get one & the girl who was giving free hugs did hug her! So cute!!

At first, our spot wasn't very good business & that was like after hours of finding the wrong spot.
I didn't want to move around anymore & I think God really gave us that spot because in the end, we collected quite a lot.

& the amount of HOTNESS who passed by that area.. "say ooh la la, say ooh la la la!"
then we got real tired of just standing around (since we didn't go up to people to ask/force them to donate)we turned up some music & started singing along to the songs. I think our singing caught some people's attention (our singing was good ok!!) because when we started singing, many people started to donate!

If we didn't sing, nobody would have noticed us standing there & then nobody would donate.
But since we were singing, they had to look at our direction & when they saw that we were looking for donations they donated :D

Actually, SPCA gets more support compared to other non-profit organizations. When I did Flag Day for other organizations, they would hesitate and think twice but with SPCA, one look at the the can & immediate reaction!
:D

I kept saying out loud (shouting actually)
"WE LOVE ANIMALS"
"I DON'T EAT MEAT"
"WE ARE STRONGLY AGAINST THE USE OF ANIMALS FOR TESTING OF COSMETICS OR DRUGS"
"SUPPORT ANIMAL RIGHTS"
"STOP ANIMAL ABUSE"
"WE CARE FOR ANIMALS, DO YOU?"

LOL!

We had real fun doing it and I didn't want to leave so early because:
1. There was still so much more HOTNESS to see
2. There was still hope of collecting more money
but in the end we left & turned out to be the earliest out of the 4 groups.

OMG! I feel like going for Flag Day next week but I'm not sure yet ):

There was this real cute puppy at SPCA when we went to see the animals in the shelter. When we went into it's cage, she kept chewing on our shoelaces!

There were some dogs that were really sad to be there. There was one dog, he just kept lying there in the cage. Not barking & not being excited when somebody goes up to its cage. It just kept lying there without moving just looking up at you with those puppy eyes. It was really heartbreaking.
Sigh.

One day I'll get my own dog. I just hope I won't kill it.
:P
Of course I won't!
I totally support Animal Rights.

P.S.
I bumped into Ben on the way back to SPCA at City Hall. He was going out.
He still looks the same :P
was good to see him again after all this time :D
wonder whether he's still stealing people's FBTs..
